Koen De Cauter (soprano saxophone, vocal), Sam Opstaele (solo guitar), Jonathan Manes (rhythm guitar, vocal), Emile Van Helleputte (double bass).
A mix of Django Reinhardt's jazz swing with sounds from New-Orleans, Argentina, Sicily and ‘la douce France’ and the wonderful world of Georges Brassens and Wannes Van de Velde…

Lamoral was conceived as a result of the meeting of three promising and driven young musicians and well-known saxophonist and singer Koen De Cauter, who some forty years ago promoted gypsy jazz and other lesser known musical styles with his legendary ‘Waso Quartet’.

Lamoral performs its own compositions as well as old songs in a personal lyrical style, where the subtle arrangements full of unexpected swinging accents approach the original in a sensitive way. Sax lines, guitar solos full of energy and joy, generous and entertaining swing, a mixture of evocative and Mediterranean sounds.

Theirs is a performance in which beauty, generosity, wonder, playfulness, authenticity and simplicity captivate a public that gets carried along with growing enthusiasm in a climate of impeccable musicianship.
